Can I Get a Grant to Replace My Faulty Storage Heaters?
Yes you can but you must receive State Benefits or Tax Credits to qualify
If you have faulty electric storage heaters installed in your home you may be entitled to a Government grant to help replace them
With the Government’s ECO Scheme you may be entitled to a grant to replace faulty storage heaters if you satisfy the following three conditions:
- You live in your own home or a privately rented one. Unfortunately householders who live in properties owned by their local council or a housing association are not included in this scheme. Shared ownership properties are also excluded.
- You receive one of the qualifying State Benefits or Tax Credits. More information about which benefits qualify can be found HERE.
- You have at least one faulty or inefficient electric storage heater installed in your home.

Storage Heater Grants are awarded on a strict a ‘like for like’ basis. This means that the ECO Scheme provides grants to replace your existing old faulty storage heaters with new modern high heat retention storage heaters.
Grants for other types of heating systems are available from the Affordable Warmth Scheme.
How does the Storage Heater Grant Scheme Work?
If you satisfy the Storage Heater Grant qualifying criteria you should be entitled to a grant to replace faulty storage heaters.
Once you complete the storage heater grant application form we will call you back to confirm the information and answer any questions you may have.
We will then arrange for an ECO Accredited Installer to check out your faulty storage heaters and complete the official ECO Grant application form on your behalf.
Once your ECO Grant to replace faulty storage heaters has been approved, the company will arrange to install new storage heaters. These will be high heat retention storage heaters manufactured by either Dimplex or Elnur.
Your new storage heaters will be up to 30% more energy efficient than traditional storage heaters so they should help you save money on your heating bills.
